WEST END REVIEW (2/2)
Mark Shenton (Sunday Express) and his guests David Benedict (Variety), Libby Purvis (Times) and Matt Wolf (International Herald Tribune) assess Flare Path (Theatre Royal Haymarket); Cause Celebre (Old Vic); Blithe Spirit (Apollo); Ecstasy (Duchess Theatre); Moonlight (Donmar Warehouse); and Rocket to the Moon (National Theatre). Recorded at the National Theatre.
I can’t remember a more welcome anniversary celebration than this [the Rattigan centenary]. We don’t get to see the other works that much and they’ve been fantastically rewarding. I haven’t been disappointed yet. He does seem to me to be a playwright who’s absolutely right for a serious upping of his reputation.
