INTERVIEW: IN-SOOK CHAPPELL. The Verity Bargate award-winning playwright tells Suman Bhuchar about her latest play Mountains: The Dreams of Lily Kwok, an adaptation of chef Helen Tse’s memoir Sweet Mandarin about her family’s restaurant in Manchester. Exploring the potency of a story about three generations of Chinese women and her approach to adaptation, Chappell goes onto discuss her background in performance, as an actor and dancer, and her body of work about North and South Korea. Recorded in London in April 2018.
“It’s kind of like a jigsaw puzzle, writing an adaptation”
