Isobel Waller-Bridge
14th June 2019
INTERVIEW: ISOBEL WALLER-BRIDGE. Acclaimed stage composer Isobel Waller-Bridge gives Matt Trueman a crash course in an under-appreciated art-form. Distinguishing between the disciplines of sound design and scoring a show, Waller-Bridge examines music’s ability to punctuate proceedings and to set a theatrical mood, sometimes consciously, sometimes less so. As she embarks on an innovative new collaboration casting playwrights as lyricists, she also introduces her work on The Song Project. Recorded at the Royal Court on 6th June 2019.
“This is going to sound strange, but I feel like you could light a show with sound”
