The playwright and director of Snookered (Oldham Coliseum Theatre/Bush Theatre) talk to Suman Bhuchar about the genesis and staging of this new play, produced by Tamasha, which examines British Muslim life today. Recorded at the Jerwood Space, 25 January 2012.
It gives these Pakistani boys with a very, very complex identity a voice that I haven’t heard before. It’s a surprising voice, it’s a complex contradictory voice and it doesn’t necessarily advocate for them.
