INTERVIEW: RASHDASH. Physical theatre trio Helen Goalen, Abbi Greenwood and Beckie Wilkie discuss the evolution of their work over the course of 10 years with critic Catherine Love. Driven by a deep-seated feminism and a desire to break free of language into new modes of expression, their shows have consistently reworked stories from a feminist perspective and, in 2018, RashDash set about dismantling Chekhov’s Three Sisters and the idea of a canon. They talk about reworking classics for today, and the radicalism of reaching new audiences. Recorded in May 2018 at the Royal Exchange in Manchester.
“We’ve talked a lot in this process about how pleasure can be quite radical, about making choices because of what is pleasurable or what is fun”
