SHAKESPEARE: JULIUS CAESAR
Greg Doran, the RSC’s artistic director designate, talks in depth to Heather Neill about his critically acclaimed production of Julius Caesar, which is set in Africa and was inspired by Nelson Mandela’s experiences of reading the play while in prison on Robben Island. The production is touring to London and internationally. Recorded at the RSC, London, 31 July 2012.
Caesar: Cowards die many times before their deaths:
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard
It seems to me most strange that men should fear
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.
