DISCUSSION: FRANCES MAYLI MCCANN, JOHNNY MCKNIGHT, JULIE WILSON NIMMO. Actors McCann, McKnight and Wilson Nimmo discuss the vibrancy of the pantomime tradition in Scotland and explore how it affects their work throughout the rest of the year. In 2018, McCann plays Princess Jasmine in Aladdin at the King’s Theatre, Glasgow, having previously starred in The Great Wave at the National Theatre and in the Olivier award-winning Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour. With a panto record stretching for more than a decade, McKnight is the star, director and writer of Mammy Goose at the Tron Theatre, Glasgow, as well as the author of Sleepin’ Cutie at the Macrobert, Stirling. Another Tron regular, Wilson Nimmo appears in Mammy Goose and has starred in Balamory, Still Game and Scot Squad as well as BBC Radio 4’s Fags, Mags and Bags.
