Diana Damian speaks to Roundhouse producer Lucy Atkinson, Poejazzi-curator Joshua Idehen and performer and member of A Cloud of Foxes Tobi DeAngeli about spoken word, its poetics, politics and influences, and their involvement with London’s first spoken word festival, The Last Word. This is the future of spoken word now. We have a festival dedicated to this work, more artists engaging with the form, and a wide range of engaging, nuanced and varied work performed in many contexts.
